Most of the best dog insurances have some red tape and payout limits, not Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. It’s a unicorn in that respect since there is unlimited payouts without any incident, annual or lifetime limits. Copays are between 10% and 30% after your deductible of up to $500 per year is met. Keep in mind that veterinary examination fees are not covered but your dog’s prescribed medications are covered.

There is a high customer satisfaction with fast email response times — they are easy to reach if you have any question or interrogation bothering you. Once you’ve joined, simply install the Healthy Paws smartphone app to submit quick claims. Your first claims may take longer, but it commonly takes maximum 10 days for payments to be sent.

When reading through Healthy Paws sample policy under Section III, Clause 5 you can find a sentence that can be interpreted in many different ways:

You must agree to implement all reasonable means possible in the care and protection of your pet. You further agree to protect the pet from aggravation and/or recurrence of the injury and/or illness after occurrence.

To date, I haven’t bumped into a customer’s bad experience mentioning this particular point but it’s always good to be informed and prepared. Most dog insurance companies have similar clauses.

Healthy Paws agents will use medical records and notes written by the attending veterinarian to assess if the animal had any pre-existing conditions which would keep them from approving you submitted claim. Again, pretty much all dog insurances do that.

Every Quote Gives Hope Program

Healthy Paws runs a foundation assisting shelters and rescue centers in their daily work and overall mission. For every policy quote received, Healthy Paws foundation makes a lovely donation via service grants and professional assistance to all these people devoting their sweat and time saving more pets.

Healthy Paws Hip Dysplasia Coverage

Healthy Paws is famous for its unlimited payouts but hip dysplasia is not going to be covered for adult dogs of 6 years old or more. If you have a large dog breed, make sure you’re enrolling before his or her 6th birthday. All coverage starts 15 days after your policy begins but there is a one-year waiting period for hip dysplasia.
